COLOMBIA NEWS — (Prensa Latina) Colombia works at top speed with a short list of 32 athletes with a view to the World Skating Championships to be held from next November 7 in Rosario, Argentina. The group will travel today to the South American nation to give the finishing touches on its trining before the start of the World Cup.
The favorite of this Andean nation is Yercy Puello, who collects on her career 24 victories worldwide.
We are ready and now we will go for more, we bet for it, said the athlete and recalled Colombia’s performance in the previous World Cup in Ostend, Belgium, where the country won 32 gold medals.
Puello won five gold medals at the World Championships in China-2009, Antioquia-2010 and South Korea-2011. The country participated in the recent Youth Olympics in Beijing and now in Rosario wants to improve her world record (25.9 seconds) in 300 meters track.
