Colombia – At least 14 members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) died in a military operation this past weekend, officials said on Jan. 20.
The air and ground attack targeted a FARC camp near the town of Tame in the department of Arauca, the Colombian military said in a prepared statement. One alleged FARC member was wounded and another surrendered to authorities.
During the operation, a helicopter was hit by FARC fire but was not downed.
