Bus Crashes With 50 Students, 2 Killed

In Colombia’s central Boyaca Department, a school bus containing fifty students crashed into a ditch on Monday leaving two dead and eight struggling for their lives.

The school bus was returning near fifty students to their homes from a local High School when at 3PM, the bus drove off of a bridge crashing into what local media has been calling a large “chasm.”

Two young men whose names have not been released were killed.  Eight students were rushed to hospitals in Colombia’s nearby capital city, Bogota and are in critical condition due to fractures and lung problems.  17 more were injured and also taken to a hospital in Bogota.

All students were between 16 and 18 years old.
