James Rodriguez now has the Golden Boot in hand, after beating out both Brasil and Germany’s top players for scoring the most goals in the 2014 World Cup.
With six goals in the tournament and two assists, James sealed his place in World Cup history as the first Colombian to have ever won the Golden Boot award — presented to the player who scores the most goals in the tournament.
The 23 year old forward recently signed a $108 million contract with Real Madrid, beginning a “a European transfer merry-go-round,” as the United Kingdom’s The Independent newspaper put it.
Manchester, Liverpool, and Real Madrid are all vying to sign Colombia’s striker Falcao, while the latest rumors favor him joining James in Madrid.
