COLOMBIA ENTERTAINMENT NEWS – Colombian journalist and former lover of the late Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, Virginia Vallejo, said in an interview with the showbiz magazine Elenco that she might take her life to the big screen with a group of moviemakers “associated with Javier Bardem.”

Escobar’s girlfriend for almost five years, who lives under protection in the United States, said she has even had a two-hour meeting with the Spanish actor.

“He knows that the perfect one to play Escobar is himself,” Vallejo said about Bardem, dismissing all other actors who have played the drug lord such as John Leguizamo in the film “King of Cocaine,” which has not yet premiered, and Andres Parra in the television series “Escobar, el Patron del Mal” (Escobar, the Master of Evil).

Vallejo said that “there’s an option already signed with a group of producers and screenwriters associated with Javier Bardem,” and that a certain television channel is also interested in her story, but not only with regard to her affair with the drug kingpin.

“It’s my story before Pablo and after Escobar. I don’t know, but I believe that with time it will be played by two very famous actresses. But I can’t give their names at the moment,” the most famous TV news anchor in Colombia during the 1980s said.

The drug lord’s one-time lover, who at age 65 believes she is no longer just famous but on her way to becoming “a legend,” predicted that her story will be told more than once, including after her death.

The relationship between Vallejo and Escobar goes back to a visit the model, journalist, news anchor and socialite made in 1983 to the drug lord’s ranch, but after five years she decided to go into isolation and remain silent until 2006, a year when she spilled a lot of information and sought protection in Miami
